Katie Nee

Attorney Katie Nee practices in the areas of criminal defense and personal injury.

Prior to founding Nee Law LLC, Katie had the privilege of serving as a legal assistant to Judge John J. McConnell, Jr., United States District Court. She also trained at the law firms of Harrington & Vitale, Motley Rice and Deluca & Weizenbaum where she gained experience in criminal defense and complex civil litigation.

Prior to returning to her home state of RI, Katie enjoyed a distinguished career in electoral politics. She had the honor of serving as Chief of Staff to Congressman Don Cazayoux (D-LA) after helping to elect him in a 2008 special election.  After that, she consulted on dozens of congressional races as Southern Regional Political Director to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Katie served as an advisor to Congressman David Cicilline’s 2012 campaign, as senior advisor to Seth Magaziner’s campaign for General Treasurer in 2014, and as Magaziner’s transition director after his victory.

She serves on the board of Progreso Latino, on the Ward 1 Cranston Democratic Committee, and served on the 2020 Cranston Charter Review Commission.

Katie earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as an assistant editor to the Roger Williams Law Review, represented criminal defendants through the Roger Williams Law School Criminal Defense Clinic, and worked as a research assistant for Law School Dean Michael Yelnosky.

Katie is admitted to practice in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and in the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
